Provide a supportive network for educators and school staff who identify as Latinx/Hispanic, as well as allies who are interested in supporting and amplifying Latinx/Hispanic voices within our educational environments and Durham communities..
Our Goals
Leadership & Advocacy
Lead initiatives focused on leadership development, capacity building, and mentorship to promote equity and inclusion while advocating for the equitable representation, resources, and opportunities for Latinx/Hispanic students and staff within DDSB.
Professional Development & Networking
Facilitate professional growth opportunities, networking, and skill-sharing among Latinx/Hispanic staff to enhance their leadership capabilities and professional advancement.
Community Engagement
Actively engage with the Latinx/Hispanic student population and their families to better understand and address their unique needs and concerns, fostering a supportive community environment.
Cultural Appreciation
Raise awareness and appreciation of the rich diversity of Latinx/Hispanic cultures through events, activities, and initiatives within schools, communities, and the Education Centre to enrich the educational experience for all students.
